Ford India is planning to surprise the Indian customers with its new mini SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) Ford EcoSport, which has unbelievable fuel economy and a fascinating futuristic look. The Ford EcoSport has been showcased at the 2102 Delhi International Auto Expo. Recently, the company had disclosed a teaser image of the SUV. The car has been engineered and designed on Ford Fiesta platform.
The next generation Ford EcoSport is likely to hit Indian roads in 2012. Inaugural edition of the compact SUV was launched in 2004 and designed by the Ford-US Truck Vehicle Center and manufactured in Brazil by Ford.
The upcoming Ford Ecosport will be loaded with a highly efficient 1.0 L turbocharged Ecoboost petrol engine, which is a down-sized direct-injected that provides the same output as delivered by a 1.6 L engine. It will also provide the accommodation for five adults comfortably and will have set of airbags and Anti Lock Braking system for better safety.
The Ford Ecosport is codenamed as “B515”, which looks so compact. The new car will be easy to park anywhere. The SUV is expected to be available with the price range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh.
The new Ford EcoSport will definitely satisfy the buyers who need to own SUV but in a limited budget.
